What a Week!

It has been over a week now since I have posted. Things have been crazy since my last post. As soon as Micah got better, Noah and Charlie got a touch of the virus. I thought for sure that I was going to get it, but some how I missed it. The Lord knew that I had too much going on this week to have a set back like that. I have been busy planning our preschool's graduation. It was last night and boy am I glad that it is over. Everything seem to go well. It was a very sweet time for the children and their families. So, preschool is over for a couple of months and I am excited about having a short break.

I also went to Micah's program yesterday at Mother's Morning Out. That was cute. He just stood there while everyone else sang and then when the song was over he got all excited and clapped. That was the first time that I have ever saw him up on stage. Yes, I got it on camera.

This weekend we are getting away. I don't know if it will be much of a break or not. We are going camping with my parents. I would like to just sleep all weekend. My parents will be there to help with the boys, so I may sneek in a nap or two. I am a little anxious as to how Noah will do and Micah will sleep when Noah wakes in the middle of the night. We are not going to be far from home, so we can come home if we need to. That is all for now. I will post some pictures of our trip when we return.

Almost Better

Well, since my last post Micah is doing much better. He ended up catching a virus along with everything else, Wednesday he woke up with a high fever and diarrhea. Everything hit him at once, so that is why everything seemed so bad. It is Thursday and he is now able to hold food down, but has had diarrhea all day. He has been playing and eating today. It has been a very exhausting week! I have washed way too many loads of clothes and changed bed sheets a couple times a day. It was also my birthday yesterday and we did not get a chance to do anything. Maybe when things calm down a bit, we can celebrate.

Micah Update

I ended up taking Micah to the doctor today, because he still not been able to keep anything down. The doctor agreed that swallowing blood from the cut on his tongue is causing the nausea. He is also running a fever now and is congested, so the doctor also believes that he has a viral infection that is making things worse. Poor little guy. The good thing is that he is not dehydrated and does not have a concussion. He is just very lethargic. Today at 11:30, he sat in Noah's bouncy seat and went to sleep. He slept until 2:30 when he woke up sick again. He has some medicine for the nausea and congestion now, so maybe tomorrow will be a better day.

What a Night!!!

You will never believe the afternoon and evening that we have had. This is blog material for sure. I am going to try and make a long story short, so here are the basics. At preschool today, Micah and a boy a bit bigger than him collided on the slide. The boy ran into Micah and sent him rolling several feet. The teacher did not know that Micah was hurt until she noticed blood on his shirt when he lifted his head from her shoulder. When he came in his face was covered in dirt. I asked what happened and they told me about the collision and said that he must of busted his lip. I did not even see one scratch on him, so I figured he was okay, gave him and hug and went back to work. Well, when he got up from his 2 1/2 hour nap this afternoon, he was complaining about his mouth hurting. I looked in it and still did not see the problem. About 30 minutes later, I hear him crying and calling for me. He had spit up on his hand and shirt what appeared to be blood. He did the same thing again about 10 minutes later. About this time Charlie came home and we had both decided that he had swallowed some blood and was coughing it back up. Well, that was only the beginning. I had just gotten finished feeding Noah and Micah was helping me burp him when all of a sudden he projectile vomited on all of us. It was disgusting!!! He got me, Noah, the couch, the floor and himself. Charlie rushed him to the tub and I cleaned up everything else and started a load of clothes. He wasn't out of the bathroom but about 15 minutes when he did it again. Back to the tub he went. After that, we found out what is causing the throwing up. He has sliced his tongue in two places and it looks really bad. He is swallowing blood from that and it is making him sick at his stomach. We put him to bed about 7:30. I got Noah down at 8:30 when I heard Micah calling for me. He had thrown up all in his bed. Charlie put him in the tub for the 3rd time and I changed the sheets on the bed. He is one sick boy right now. Since getting up, he has tried throwing up several times, but has nothing left in his stomach. I have not seen him this sick since he was in the hospital at 5 months hold. We are both worried about him. So, he is sleeping in the bed with Charlie for the night and I am on the couch with Noah in the bassinet next to me. I don't think either of us will get much rest tonight. This is only the second time he has slept in our bed. The first time was when he was 6 months old and had a really high fever. Well, I best close and wake Noah to feed him before I settle in for the night or I hope at least 4 straight hours of sleep.

One Month Has Passed

One month has passed since my life has been changed
upon becoming a mother of two. Time flies! Life
will never be the same again. I will always be
surviving on less sleep, have less time to myself,
and be picking up cars after little boys, but it is
worth it. The best moments are when Micah shows
affection towards Noah. See Pictures.

Noah is getting bigger everyday. He is now 9lbs!
Micah was under 6lbs at a month old, so I am
afraid that his little brother is going to pass him
in no time. I am having a harder time watching
Noah grow. I know that this is it for me...my last
newborn. I get a little emotional when I think
about that. I wish that I could just freeze him
right here for a while, but I know that is not what
the Lord has intended. He wants Noah and Micah
to grow, so that one day He can use them to do
great things.

Mom & Me Breakfast

We had a special breakfast at preschool today for the moms. I was up at 5:30 fixing sausage and bisquits. The breakfast went great. Each child gave their mom a special present. Micah was so proud to give me his present. The boys and I got some great pictures together. Please try not to notice the bags under my eyes, as I have been operating on just a few hours of sleep each night.

Back at School

Micah, Noah and I went back to preschool yesterday. I wanted to take another week off, but with the end of the year quickly approaching I knew that there was just too much to do. We have a breakfast for the moms tomorrrow and graduation in 3 weeks. All of which I am very busy planning. We managed to get out of the house and be there by 7:30am. I was very proud of myself. It was not easy, but I only have to do it for 3 weeks and then we have a break for the summer.

To update you on Noah...he now has Thrush in his mouth and on his lips. He is pitiful! He is in a lot of pain and is not eating or sleeping well. I am also developing an infection from the Thrush as well. It always seems to be something, but there is good news. The Thrush may be the reason that he is refluxing. If the Thrush is in his throat and esophagus, then he would have a hard time swallowing and be choking as he eats. That would be wonderful if that's all that it is and he does not have reflux. I just hope that he gets better soon. I need some rest!!!

Poor Baby...

Noah has been projectile vomiting since Sunday night. Last night it was really bad. He did it three different times. He has also been choking on his spit-up the last couple of nights, so there has not been much sleeping around here. The choking was really scary and this was happening quite often. I am breastfeeding, but having to supplement with formula a good bit as my milk supply is suffering at the fact that I am so busy taking care of two small children. We have tried three different formulas, but all are having about the same affect. I have been in touch with the lactation consultant and doing everything possible (aside from taking medication) to get my milk supply back up. Well, last night the vomiting and choking was really bad. Charlie put his foot down and said that it was time to go to the doctor. I hate going to the doctor, but realized that I was going to lose it soon if something did not change. He had just eaten when the doctor saw him and she got to see how he was acting. She said that she was almost positive that he had reflux, but might also have something wrong with his Pylorus Valve since he is projectile vomiting. She gave us several different things to try for the reflux and if that works, then we will be fine. If not, then we will have to put him through some painful tests to look at the Pylorus. I do not want to go that route anytime soon, so I am just praying that it is just reflux and that I can get my milk supply back up. That will be easier on his system. We have tried all the strategies she gave us today and right now he is "sleeping like a baby." If it is reflux, then he should outgrow it as soon as his system matures. I just feel sorry for him, because he does not understand why he feels the way he does. I can sympathize for him, since I went down that same route myself with GERD about six years ago.
