This morning I left Micah and Charlie at home and went to church by myself. Micah was sick, so Charlie had to either stay home with him or go to church to cover nursery duty. He chose to stay home with Micah. This is a picture of what happens when the two boys are left home alone. I had baked this festive pan of brownies for a social at Charlie's school. While Charlie was on the couch playing on his laptop, Micah was at the table enjoying a chocolate high. He also wiped it all over his clean clothes that I had just put on him before leaving. No wonder Micah seems to have more fun with daddy then he does mama. Daddies are all about the fun!

Trick or Treat with the Playgroup

Thursday we dressed up all of the babies and toddlers in the playgroup hoping to take some cute pictures of them in their costumes. Well, with ten babies and toddlers it was almost impossible to get a good picture. Some of the best ones that I got are below.

Another Eventful OB Visit

I went to my scheduled OB visit yesterday in hopes that it would be uneventful, all would be well and I would be on my way. I have come to the conclusion that nothing about this pregnancy is going to be normal. This baby is already letting me know that it is going to be a stubborn one.

The first thing that they do is listen to the baby. Well, he/she decided to be stubborn this time. The nurse could not get the heartbeat on the first attempt, so she said let me go get the other monitor. She left the room and I was a little worried, because it was not that hard to find the heartbeat the last time. Well, she came back with another monitor that she said was better and sure enough we found the fast little heart beat. I don't think I will ever get tired of hearing that sweet sound. Come to find out, the baby has decided to take up camp down low. Much lower then Micah! So, he/she is putting lots of pressure on my bladder. The OB could not believe how low the baby was and how small my bladder was. I can believe it, because I can't stay out of the bathroom!

The OB came in and was excited about my report from the heart doctor. I gave her the lastest on my headaches and blurred vision and she did not like what she was hearing. She said that it was time to see a neurologist and get to the bottom of the headaches. She said that they did not seem like normal pregnancy headaches to her. I was a little discouraged about that. I did tell her that I had not had one in the last two days, hoping that would make a difference in her decision. But she still said it was not normal to be having as many as a I am having, as well as the other symptoms that go along with them. So we are off to see the neurologist in November. Although I really don't want to go, I will feel better to have him check me over and hopefully tell me that my head is okay.

The heart is GOOD!

Well, I had the Stress Echo done yesterday. I made it through it alright. I was just really tired after working so hard. The Cardiologist said that my heart looked good and functioned well under stress. What a blessing! It is a relief to know that nothing is wrong with my heart and that it should be able to meet the demands of the baby with no problem. There is still one more problem though. My headaches have not let up and with them comes blurred vision and numbness in my left arm and hand. I have had a headache everyday this week. I think they are probably what is making me so tired. The pain medicine that the OB gave me does not seem to be helping either. I go back to the OB on Friday, so hopefully they will give some suggestions as to what might be causing them and what I need to do next.

The Life of a Toddler

Micah fell off of a step at my friend's house the other day and got a huge boo boo. His forehead hit the concrete. He really did not cry much about it. I guess it looks a lot worse then it really is. The funny thing is that we have picture day at school tomorrow. Every time we have pictures scheduled something like this happens. That's a toddler for you.

What a Bruise!

Pregnancy Blues

I have decided that my body is just not cut out for pregnancy. I had a hard time with Micah towards the end of pregnancy and I have had a rough time with this one since the very beginning. I am about over my morning sickness (PRAISE THE LORD), but over the last couple of weeks several new things have surfaced. I have been having migraine headaches with blurred vision and numbness of my arm. I have also had a couple of episodes of chest pain with arm numbness. The symptom that bothers me the most at this point is that I am extremely tired...more so then I was in my first trimester. I don't feel like doing anything and tire out very easily. I some times feel as if I am going to faint at any moment. I figured all this was just normal pregnancy stuff and how this pregnancy was affecting me. I went for an OB check up on Friday and found out that several of these things did not seem very normal. The OB referred me to a Cardiologist for testing. I go there tomorrow for an evaluation and testing. Hopefully it is nothing, but I am glad that the OB is checking it out. It will at least give us a peace of mind or let us know what steps need to be taken to make this pregnancy a healthy one.

By the way...the baby sounded great on Friday. That is a blessing!

Jaemor Farms

Today our playgroup met at Jaemor Farms. We went on a hayride, picked out a couple of pumpkins and ate hot boiled peanuts. The weather was wonderful, so it made for a perfect day at the pumpkin patch. After a couple of hours at the farm, we went back to one of the ladies house for lunch and a few more minutes of play. See pictures below.

National Bring Your Teddy Bear to Work Day

Yummy!!!

For those of you who may not know, today was "National Bring Your Teddy Bear to Work Day." I am sure that everyone participated. We celebrated at preschool by bringing our teddy bears and have a tea party. Micah is pictured here in his class enjoying a cupcake. He does not get many sweets, so that was a real treat for him. He ate every bit of it. In the background on the shelf is Micah's favorite teddy bear that he took to school today.

Wiggle Obsession!

Lovin the Wiggles!

Micah is in love with The Wiggles!!! He has loved them since he was 12 months old. He gets to watch 30 minutes of television a day and The Wiggles is always his show of choice. He owns several Wiggles toys and will be getting a few more Wiggles things for Christmas. We are going to be taking him to The Wiggles Concert in Atlanta on November 15th. He is going to go crazy when he sees them in person!

The search is over!

I have been looking for a toddler bed for the last several months. I have searched Ebay, Walmart, Toysrus, Kaybee, etc. I realized that by the time I bought a matress for the bed, I would be spending a couple a hundred dollars. That, I did not want to do. Today, I got lucky. I opened the newspaper to search for yard sales. I was not really in mood to go to yard sales, due to pregnancy sickness, but was specifically on the search for a CHEAP toddler bed. I was in luck! A house just a few miles from here was selling two toddler beds. It was 8:30 and the yard sale had begun at 8:00. I was not dressed or anything. I got dressed in all of ten minutes, threw Micah in the bed with Charlie (who was still sleeping) and was on a mission! I pulled up in the driveway and one of the toddler beds was still there. It was a car bed, with the matress included. All for $25. What a deal! I loaded it in my van, picked up breakfast for my boys and was smiling all the way home. I love to find a good deal!

The plan is to give Micah the toddler bed for Christmas, and give him a few months to get use to it before the new baby comes and takes his crib.

Cowardly Lion

Once again, it has been a while since I have posted. I have not been very good with the blog thing lately. Pregnancy has hit me hard, as I am having a really rough time with this one. I guess I can say with a good bit of confidence that this will be our last. I am about 13 weeks now. I am past my first trimester and hope that the next two fly by....that is if I don't get to feeling better soon. Well, pregnancy is not what I was going to post about, so let me get to my funny story.

Yesterday, I met a friend at the Mall of Georgia to have pictures of Micah taken in his costume. Last year he was a cute little pumpkin. This year he is going to be a lion. He is not a brave, roaring lion, but a timid, cowardly one. I put him in his costume and everything was going good. Then the photographer pulled down the white background that Micah was to stand on. Upon hearing and seeing that, Micah freaked out and had a death grip on me. It is hard at times to figure out a nonverbal toddler, but I think I know what was going through Micah's head. The white backdrop reminded him of the white paper that they pull down over the exam table at the doctor's office. Micah has had his fair share of the doctor's office in his short 19 months of life, so he was not going to get on that paper on his own will. It took three of us about 20 minutes to entice him to sit on the paper and put on somewhat of a happy face. That was the only pose that we got. He usually gets 6 poses, but not today! That made the picture choosing decision an easy one. We did get one really cute picture of him though.

What did I learn from yesterday's experience? 1) Have them pull down the background when he is not watching and 2) NEVER USE THE WHITE BACKGROUND!
