Camp Koinonia

Last week Charlie and I spent our entire week in Clayton at a church camp. It was the most exhausting thing I have ever done, but I really did have a great time. I was the counselor in a cabin of eleven 3rd and 4th grade girls. There was some sort of drama that took place in my cabin at least once a day. These girls were a trip!!! If only I could rewind my life and go back to that young age and know what I know now. The best part of the week was Thursday night when I counseled with five girls, two of which accepted Christ as their Savior. That is one of the things in life that fire me up the most is couseling with children and then witnessing their joy when they accept Christ!!!

We were busy from 7:00 in the morning until after 11:00 each night. On Tuesday we hiked as an entire group up Mount Pinnacle. It was an hour and a half walk up and the most strenuous hike I have ever taken. We made it and the view was beautiful! Some of the children had never in their life done or seen anything like this. On Wednesday, we went to another camp in the area for the afternoon. They had a blob there. The blob is a huge air filled pillow shaped object that one person gets on the very end of it and the other one jumps of a diving board in an attempt to send them flying in the air. I was on the end of it, when Charlie jumped onto the blob and I went flying!!!! It was fun, but slightly painful when I hit the water. Thursday, we had a huge water slide with baby oil set up for all the campers and counselors to race down. Charlie and I both did it. I did it several times, but the last time I landed in a puddle of mud. It was quite a site to see! If Micah could have only seen his parents acting like a couple of big kids at camp all week!!!!

Micah's Many Pacifiers

The other night, we started our regular bedtime routine...take a bath, take medicine, read a book and off to bed with the blankie and paci. The only problem was that we could not find Micah's paci. Before Micah was born, he received a entire bucket of pacifiers. Over the last year and a half we have managed to lose those and buy even more. I just bought two more pacifiers a couple of weeks ago and was frustrated when I could not find either one. What was Micah doing with his pacifiers???? I got down on my hands and knees and found one of them under his bed, then another and another and another and another and so on. Micah had been throwing his pacifiers behind his bed on the side closest to the wall. They were never discovered, because they were behind tupperware containers that were under his crib. I pulled his bed out from the wall to reach all the pacifiers and ended up finding 17 pacifiers. Micah was watching this entire process and was very thrilled with our discovery. It has been a couple of days since the discovery of the missing pacifiers and since then Micah's pacifiers have been vanishing once again. I guess Micah is fasinated with watching his pacifiers vanish behind the bed. There is never a dull moment with a toddler!

Micah's Playgroup!

Yesterday, we had 9 ladies and children from the ages of 6 months to 2 years over. We do playgroup every Thursday and this week it was at our house. We played outside on the porch and grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. Micah loved it that everyone was at his house, so he was really showing off!!!! See pictures below.

CAMP

As most of you know, I have been working at our church doing an intern position with the children's ministry. This week, we are taking the children to day camp. Yesterday, I spent the day with them at camp. The had a blast and I had fun too! At the end of July, Charlie and I are going to be counselors at a spend the night camp.

Our 4th of July Celebrations

Usually over the 4th of July break, we go camping, but this time we stayed close to home. On Sunday, our church had a huge Patriotic Celebration at the fairgrounds. Charlie and I helped out by running a couple of the booths. He did the snow cones and I made cotton candy. Micah was there as well. His favorite thing was playing in the ice.

We visited Charlie's parents house on Monday. We took Micah to McDonalds and he had his first ice cream cone! See pictures below.
